The American Lung Association has graded New York City's air, and the best it gets is a D for Brooklyn. The rest of the city gets an F; Gothamist thinks the Brooklyn coast helps it out, though I think it might be all the breathless panting about real estate. The sad news from Newsday:
It's the sixth year in a row the city has failed air tests and it was this year listed among the worst areas for ozone and/or particle pollution.
Though the report noted some improvements in air quality across the nation, it estimates that half of Americans live in counties with poor air quality.
